Since 1973, Smoothie King has been providing its loyal guests with menu items designed to help them live a healthy and active lifestyle. Since then, the brand has added countless smoothie flavors and ingredients to its menu, providing unparalleled options to make each smoothie the guest’s own. The most recent product to hit Smoothie King’s innovative menu are the Coffee High Protein Smoothies, which launched on August 22 throughout the brand’s 800 stores.
“The driving force of our brand is ‘Smoothies With A Purpose®’—and we adhere to this mission during every step of the research and development process,” said Rocky Gettys, Vice President of Product Development for Smoothie King. “Our latest addition, Coffee High Protein Smoothies, gives guests a boost of coffee to kick start their day, along with at least 30 grams of protein per 20-ounce cup. It’s more than just a cup of coffee—it’s a nutritional breakfast.”
The Coffee High Protein Smoothies come in four flavors, all using New Orleans-style cold brew coffee, 30-grams or more of high-quality protein and premium ingredients. The first is Almond Mocha, which combines cold brew coffee, whey protein, protein blend, almonds, turbinado, non-fat dry milk and 100 percent cocoa. The Vanilla smoothie blends cold brew coffee, whey protein, protein blend, turbinado, almonds and non-fat dry milk. The Raspberry Mocha offering features cold brew coffee, raspberry puree, whey protein, protein blend, almonds, turbinado, non-fat dry milk and 100 percent cocoa. The Cinnamon Latte smoothie contains cold brew coffee, whey protein, protein blend, non-fat dry milk, almonds, turbinado and cinnamon.
Adding new products like Coffee High Protein Smoothies to the menu helps to fuel Smoothie King’s impressive same-store sales growth. The brand also inked 53 agreements in the first half of the year for 94 new stores—another step on its way to achieving its goal of 1,000 open locations by the end of 2017.
