Smoothie King's CEO Wan Kim is aiming for world domination one smoothie at a time.
Smoothie King has its sights set on 1,000 locations by the end of 2017. Wan Kim established this goal when he first purchased the healthy-alternative brand in July of 2012.
"People thought I was crazy. The company had grown 600 stores after 40 years in business and here was this crazy guy coming along saying he was going to add another 400 stores in only five years. I guess it wasn't easy to believe, and I guess it still isn't," Wan Kim told the reporter at Biz New Orleans.
Smoothie King brought on Kevin King as their chief development officer to hit this lofty goal. King has a heavy franchise background working with Papa Murphy's most recently.
"He knows the challenges that are involved with franchising internationally and he can emphasize with them. But he challenges them, too," Kim said of King to a Biz New Orleans reporter.
