Capitalizing on Consumer Demand for an Active Lifestyle, Smoothie King Targets Georgia for Franchise Growth
The brand is looking to develop 24 additional units across the Peach State.

Built upon the foundation of serving “Smoothies With A Purpose” more than 40 years ago, Smoothie King is now undergoing a strategic push across the South and has its sights set on expanding the brand’s presence across Georgia.

According to Smoothie King Development Manager Stephen Foley, the brand currently has 65 units open and operating across the Peach State, but increased consumer demand for healthier alternatives has opened up Georgia for additional development. In fact, in this year’s edition of Nation’s Restaurant News’ Consumer Picks issue, customers voted Smoothie King as the No. 1 brand in the Limited-Service Restaurant Beverage-Snack category.

“Georgia has always been an important market for Smoothie King as residents have long sought an alternative to traditional quick service foods – whether as a full meal replacement or an on-the-go snack,” said Foley. “The flexibility that our diverse selection of smoothies can offer – like supporting weight-loss or increased-energy goals as part of a low-calorie, balanced diet and a regular exercise routine – is one of the keys to our success and what attracts a broad range of customers and franchisees alike. Our consumer appeal, coupled with our history in franchising, training and support systems, a strong national network, and a growing Georgia economy, make expansion across the state ideal.”

With a median household income of $48,968 and the cost of doing business one percent below the national average, Georgia’s pro business climate provides prospective franchisees a strong environment in which to build their business and grow in the future.

Prospective Smoothie King owners in Georgia can feel good about owning a Smoothie King because they will spend their days helping people live healthier and more active lives. Franchisees will benefit from operationally efficient units that have minimal waste, lower cost of goods and labor costs than most franchises and no cooking. Franchisees also benefit from minimal equipment, low startup costs, established training and support systems, strong leadership, and loyal guests. Prospective Smoothie King owners can expect their initial investment for a franchise to range from $188,200 to $414,050, including the $30,000 franchise fee.

“Our brand offers Smoothies With a Purpose, and we intend to grow across Georgia with like-minded franchisees that want to inspire others to live healthy and active lifestyles,” said Foley. “We have a lot of momentum behind our brand and feel strongly that Georgia will remain one of our hottest markets for years to come.”
